Dsg 7 problem

The -speed DSG automatic transmission—or DQ200—is a transmission that is growing rapidly in popularity. A transverse dual clutch transmission, it was brought in to supercede the 6-speed “DQ250” DSG unit, and is finding itself in more and more vehicles. This gearbox is found on VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda models. DSG PROBLEM TSI - Duration: 0:32.

However, the new wet clutch version of the speed DSG is not in this model so I wonder whether the ‘old’ dry clutch box is still a reasonable bet given that the main problem has supposedly been resolved by filling the box with non-conductive mineral oil – or are there still reliability. There have been a few well-publicised problems relating to the double clutch on VW’s six and seven-speed DSG transmissions. The double clutch on the six-speed version has always been a “wet” one, where the clutch is cooled by having gear oil pumped through it, but the seven-speed version was launched with a more normal dry clutch.

The speed DSG is used in the following combinations. The problematic gearbox was the DQ2one. Which does duty in the VW Polo GT TSI, Vento TSI, Skoda Ovtavia TSI, Skoda Superb TSI as of now.

How problematic is the VW -speed DSG ? The 7-speed DSG automatic transmission—or DQ200—is a transmission that is growing rapidly in popularity. The women went off the line to enquire from a service engineer and came back with the answer, Yes - the oil and filter needs to be changed every 40miles. Earlier skoda and vw used this transmission in engine with capacity of 3nm torque but these were detuned to produce 2nm. Volkswagen speed dsg have torque limit of 2nm.

So basically there was very no factor of safety for the gear box. So if people use that gearbox carelessly it used to start giving problems. In Australia, the same 1. It seems to be arbitrary as to which transmission is offere depending on production requirements and so on, suggesting it is neither here nor there between the two choices. VW and Audi DSG transmission have a service interval of 40k miles (you can verify this in your owners manual).

Performing this service is imperative to the life as well as the warranty on your DSG transmission. So lets first tackle reliability, the DSG transmission had a couple of issues during the first few years. These DSG boxes for me are not at all straight forward. And my friend doing the work is in the same boat. When the box is cold it works fine in all gears.

Tsi 1Golf with the speed DSG box (DQ200?) started acting up a few months ago. I began noticing an odd judder when moving from 1st to 2nd gear, and then 2nd to 3rd gear.

The DSG gearbox is known to be troublesome and yours has a history of malfunctioning. Because the car is seven years old and VW isn’t very forthcoming on customer issues you will have to suit up and take them on, but the DSG transmission is a dud and the company knows it, and they should come clean and fix cars like yours that are having problems. R to release in the States, any news or experience on the new -speed DQ3DSG transmission?

Perhaps from Canadian and ROW owners? Any problems compared to the 6-speed DQ2DSG on the MK 7R? As far as reliability is concerned the speed DSG is dry clutch as opposed to wet clutch Speed DSG.

As you are covered under warranty I would say go with the car you like. This should be obvious but the procedures on this page do NOT apply to transmissions other than 0AM. When replacing this Mechatronic unit, simply copy the coding. The car is years old and has 90miles on the clock. This is far more likely to affect any trade in value than some alleged DSG problem which, presumably, you seen no signs of in 90miles.

An yes, I got a good trade in ! I understand VW are recalling speed dsg vehicles for a gearbox oil change and wonder if this will be extended to Skoda and Seat cars? Mine has been OK for 25k, apart from being a pain to reverse up a steep hill and a slight vibration in 2nd. Anyone experienced any problems?

They were almost all exclusively the same problem.
